Forest Therapy Comes Home: A Transformational Retreat at Canyon Ranch WoodsideMay 29–June 1, 2025🌿 www.somaticecotherapy.com🌲 Canyon Ranch Woodside

Forest Therapy: Canyon Ranch
Forest Therapy: Canyon Ranch

I grew up in the Santa Cruz Mountains, just outside of Woodside—long before Canyon Ranch Woodside became a sanctuary for wellness nestled in the redwoods. That lifelong connection to the forest eventually led me to become a certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) and later, a Forest Therapy Trail Consultant trained to create intentional spaces for healing in nature.

What makes this retreat special?🌿 I’ve walked the Shinrin-Yoku trails of Japan, learning firsthand from their healthcare providers and naturalist teams. In Japan, Forest Therapy is medicine—integrated into the healthcare system, supported by evidence-based research, and grounded in biophilic design.

🌍 This April, I’ll be attending the Nature and Health Alliance Conference, where leading voices in nature-based medicine are redefining how we understand healing. Forest Therapy is more than a walk in the woods—it’s an approach that treats anxiety, boosts immunity, relieves embodied stress, and heals the epidemic of loneliness and climate grief by helping people feel deeply connected to nature—and to each other.

🌲 Join me May 29–June 1 for a rare immersive retreat at Canyon Ranch Woodside. This weekend offers a whole-body, whole-being reset:

Self Myofascial Release: Release embodied stress and create space for calm✨ Guided ANFT 3-Hour Forest Therapy Walks: Slow down, notice, reconnect✨ Bluetooth Movement Sessions: Therapeutic music and somatic release✨ Beginner-Friendly Nature Journaling: A creative mindfulness practice✨ Time to reflect, restore, and remember your place in the natural world

Well-being is not just personal—it’s relational. Our health is interdependent: with the land, with our communities, and with the quality of presence we bring into the world. When we reconnect with the Earth, we begin to care more deeply—and conservation becomes a natural response.

In addition to guiding retreats, I am also certified to design and certify Forest Therapy Trails—creating both guided and self-guided experiences that offer meaningful connection and reflection. These trails are emerging as powerful tools for public health, conservation, and wellness tourism.📎 Learn more about trail certification and biophilic trail design:👉 View Slide Deck
